Janet B. Landsberg, 81, of Rhinebeck and a former Red Hook resident, passed away on Thursday, March 30th, 2017 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck.
Born on July 14, 1935, in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late Warren R. and Bernice (Diem) Landsberg.
A nurse all her life, Janet worked as a surgical tech and a scrub nurse for Dr. Van Ness in Hudson, and at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, Columbia Memorial in Hudson, Vassar Brother's Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, and Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Janet retired in July of 1997.
Janet was a member of AARP and the NRA. She was well known for her knitting, crocheting and her homemade wine.
She is survived by two sons, James R. (Pam) Stagias of Elizaville, NY, and William G. (Kelly) Stagias of Elizaville, NY; three grandchildren, James Joseph Stagias of Elizaville, Samantha Sharron Stagias of Elizaville, and Victoria Lynn Stagias of Scarborough, ME; along with extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by a son; Charles H. Stagias, Jr., and a brother, Richard Landsberg.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
