Monday, May 8, 2017Dear Lorrie & family, I'll remember your dear mom, Leah, as a very wise, humorous and warm member of a beautiful loving family. I've always admired how you all lived together like in olden times and I was lucky to have witnessed beautiful exchanges between Leah and her grand & great-grandchildren at your gatherings. The world is so fortunate to have had her here for so long. Leah's legacy will forever live in you all. Sending love & hugs, Doris Elena

Sunday, May 7, 2017My Titi Leah was a marvelous woman. Her impact on my life is held in my heart. As a young girl I would visit the Longwood Avenue apartment during the summer. It was then I learned, from Titi Leah, what a strong independent woman can accomplish. She showed me ways of recycling and conservation before we ever heard those words. I remember going to Alexander's Department store with her and Lorelle to buy discount hose in all different shades and she would take them home and dye them the same color for herself and my cousin. I remember having breakfast coffee for the first time with evaporated milk. To this day I marvel and brag to others of her wondrously delicious pineapple upside down cake. Her present to me once was a very fashionable, beige linen, Easter dress that wrapped around and closed in the back with buttons covered of the same cloth. She was a seamstress extraordinaire. My Titi Leah always had a smile of love, then all of a sudden softly bark an order of warning, which you ha better obey. I love her and always will. I regret living so far away from my Titi Leah and Family, but am happy to know we have stayed connected through unconditional love and FaceBook. May Our grieving be filled with happy memories that nourish new life, more love. Titi, I am ever grateful for and humbled by your life. We honor you. Watch over us. Whisper in our ears. Pray for us. Guide us to Peace. Rest in Peace, my Titi Leah, rest in our love.
