Joan A. Vachon

Joan A. Vachon, 70, of Milan, NY, passed away on Friday, April 26th, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 17, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Howard and Myrtle (Frey) Kelleher. Joan married Thomas Vachon on November 14, 1968 in Manhattan, NY, and he survives at home in Milan.

For over 25 years, and until her retirement, Joan worked as the housekeeping supervisor at the Astor Home in Rhinebeck, NY.

In addition to her family, Joan was an avid gardener and often would spend time tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Vachon of Milan, NY; her children, Jeanene Vachon of Amesbury, MA, Thomas Daniel Vachon of Lincoln, ME, Laura Oflu of Madison, AL, and Danielle (Wayne) Hottes of Milan, NY; her loving grandchildren, Dustin Vachon, Thomas Vachon, Emma Hanscom, Andrew Hanscom, Kenan Oflu, Timothy Vachon, Bella Hottes, James Vachon, and Regan Hottes; along with extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, a brother, Daniel Kelleher predeceased her.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 from 10 AM - 12 PM. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Rhinebeck Cemetery, Rhinebeck.
