Robert A. Barbini

Robert A. Barbini, 61, of Germantown, NY, passed away on Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, where he was surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 8, 1958, in the Bronx, he was the son of Maria Ponzini Barbini of Germantown, and the late Aldo Barbini.

Robert married Lori Altobello on October 25, 1987 in the Bronx. She currently resides at home in Germantown.

Robert proudly served in the United States Navy from 1976-1980.

For many years, and until his retirement, Robert worked for New York State. Most recently, he worked as Plant Superintendent with the NYS Department of Corrections in Hudson, NY.

Robert enjoyed traveling to Cabo San Lucas with his family for many years. He was an avid fisherman and spent a great deal of time on the water with the many friends he made. He also enjoyed learning about Mexican cuisine. Aside from fishing, Robert's many interests included hunting, cooking, and tending to his beehives.

In addition to his loving wife of 31 years, and his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Maria Barbini of Germantown, NY; son, Bobby Barbini of Germantown, NY; his sister in law, Lisa, and brother in law, Robert Lupien of Middletown, NY; his Uncle Peter Barbini, and Aunt Laura of Queens, NY; his nieces, Kristina Beghyn of Branchville, NJ, Danielle Ritz of Alanson, MI, and Nicole Turner of Middletown, NY; along with numerous extended family, colleagues, and friends.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2 - 4 PM & 6 - 8 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Church of the Resurrection in Germantown, NY. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
