Clayton F. Craver Sr. (Zip) 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sept 30th, 2019 at Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was the son of the late Harry and Frances Albright Craver.
He is survived at home by his beloved wife, Joan Craver of 63 years.
He worked as a lineman on the railroad then he moved his occupation into farming. A few of his favorite places were; Ralph Boice's Horse Farm in Livingston, Charlie Snyder's Dairy Farm, and lastly at Boice's Grain. He was an avid outdoors man with a natural green thumb.
Zip also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to bowl with his family and friends. He bowled in National tournaments all over the U.S. Another enjoyment for him was golf. When he resided in South Carolina he was a member of Charwood Country Club. He resided in South Carolina for 11 years before moving back to N.Y. Zip also enjoyed Pony sulky racing in the earlier years with his predeceased son William Craver SR. (Willy).
He is survived by his sons: Richard (Kathy) Craver of Virgina, Clayton "Peewee" (Judy) Craver Jr. of Livingston NY, and Bobby (Pam) Craver of South Carolina; his daughters, Norma (Alan) Blanchard SR. of Gallatin NY, Deedee (Butch) Moore of South Carolina, Karen (Gene) Moore SR. of South Carolina, and Heather (Jon) Craver of Clermont NY; a daughter in law, Petrena Craver; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his four brothers and two sisters.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 6th from 1-5 pm at the Red Hook-Rhinebeck 2022 Elks Lodge, 7711 Albany Post Road Red Hook NY.
