Richard A Rogers

Richard A Rogers, 81, of Red Hook and a former Hyde Park resident, passed away on Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at his home.


Born on September 8th, 1940, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Milton and Violet (Nott) Rogers. Richard married Gail Rogers on November 5, 1961 in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Gail survives at home.


Richard served in the US Coast Guard from 1959 to 1963.


He worked as a draftsman with IBM in Fishkill, NY & Virginia. He also worked for Commercial Design based in Poughkeepsie, and as a custodian for the Hyde Park United Methodist Church.


An avid hunter and fisherman, Richard was a life member of the Red Hook Rod & Gun Club, a member of the Clinton Rod & Gun Club, a life member and was instrumental in training of new member for Deer Search, and a member of Hudson Valley Bass Masters


In addition to his loving wife, Richard is survived by his children,Cynthia (Donald) Hoose of Red Hook, NY, Karen (Sam) Meneni-Pham of Reno, NV, and Richard (Judith) Rogers of Clinton Corners, NY; a brother, Kenneth Rogers of NC; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; along with extended family and friends.


A brother, Thomas Rogers also predeceased him.


Memorial Service will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at the Hyde Park Methodist Church in Hyde Park, NY.


Interment will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.


Memorial donations may be made in Richard's memory to the Hudson Valley Hospice-Foundation, 80 Washington Ave., Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
