Obituary of Paul J. Barraco

Paul J. Barraco, Sr., 64, of Clermont, NY, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Barraco, a member of the first graduating class of Dutchess Community College, was a mechanical engineer and a builder. A longtime resident of Clermont, he was an Elder in the Red Hook Congregation of Jehovah�(TM)s Witnesses. He, along with his wife and family, has owned and operated the family business, Barraco�(TM)s Italian Heritage Cookies, for over six years. Well known and respected throughout the area, he lived for his family, and happily anticipated the arrival of his grandchildren. Mr. Barraco loved the outdoors, whether traveling or cultivating his huge tomato garden, which the family enjoyed all year long. He was a hard worker who loved teaching what he knew of life and of the Bible�(TM)s hope that he had for the future. Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 9, 1938, he was the son of Mario and Anna (Barraco) Barraco. In October 1960, at Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Barraco married Josephine M. Palermo. He served in the US Navy. In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Steven A. & Kristen Barraco of Clermont, and Paul J. & Teri Barraco, Jr. of Redmond, OR, a daughter, Aimee J. Barraco of Clermont, a brother, Anthony Barraco of Red Hook, a sister, Louisa Palermo of Calif., a grandson, Ethan Mario Barraco of Clermont, and many nieces and nephews. A son, Christopher Barraco, predeceased him. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 11th, at Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7 Old Route 199, Red Hook. There will be no visiting hours. Memorial donations may be made in Paul�(TM)s memory to Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7 Old Route 199, Red Hook, NY 12571. Arrangements are by Kenneth G.
