Robert Benson Becker, 77, of Red Hook and a lifelong area resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born on September 17th, 1939, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of the late Benson and Kathleen (Teator) Becker. Bob married Karen Bentzen on May 30th, 1964 in Hoboken, NJ and she resides at home in Red Hook.
For many years and until his retirement, Bob worked as a Tax Manager with the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance-based in Albany, NY.
Bob served in the United States Army Reserves and was a longtime member and past President of the Red Hook Rod and Gun Club.
In addition to his loving wife of 53 years, he is survived by his sons, Greg Becker of Apollo Beach, FL, Bill Becker of Red Hook, Matthew Becker of Red Hook, and Stephen Becker of Red Hook; his sister, Alice Myers of Red Hook; along with five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Glenn Becker.
Memorial Service will be held 1 pm on Monday, August 7th, 2017 at Memorial Lutheran Church, 1232 Rt. 308, Rhinebeck, NY. Interment will be private. At the conclusion of the services, a reception will follow at church hall for family and friends.
