Monday, January 15, 2018Although we never had Mrs. Jones as a teacher at Rhinebeck, she always had a smile and hello for us in the halls of RCS and more recently the Baptist Home. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jones family.

Friday, January 12, 2018I am sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I worked with her at CLS. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and could always find the bright spot no matter what the problem might be. She made working a CLS a bit more fun. Pat will live on in all of the many lives she touched, mine as well. She will be missed but not forgotten

Friday, January 12, 2018When I arrived in your classroom, a little second grade student new to Rhinebeck, you took me aside and let me hold your special Russian doll. You told me that her name was Georgina. I thought it was the most amazing coincidence in the world and felt so special that I was able to play with her. I immediately loved my new school and my new teacher. You will always be one of the most influential teachers that I’ve ever had and I hope that you are playing one of the most exciting rounds of the “Don’t pay attention” game in Heaven with Mr. Jones. ❤️ Rest In Peace, Mrs. Jones.

Thursday, January 11, 2018Pat was my 2nd grade teacher in the 60's. She stayed with me throughout the decades of my life, long after our family moved to Tennessee and elsewhere and, as an adult, I moved to Washington, DC and overseas. When I returned to the USA, four years ago and after several years overseas, I knew that one of the priorities when I got back was to reach out to Pat and, with the help of Mary Ann, her dear friend, I did just that! Shortly after my initial call to Pat, I found myself on a train heading up to New York to spend what would prove to be a touching and fun weekend with Pat at the Danish Home. As I was planning to be in Rhinebeck in June, 2018, I was looking forward to visiting with her at that time. Regrettably, this second reunion would not to be but I do recall her cheery chats and sense of humor that she shared when I called her. Pat was an amazing teacher. As a shy child, I felt valued, tended to, and cared for. During my visit with her at the Danish Home, it was so clear to me why she forever 'stayed' with me throughout my life. And, she will remain so. Pat, you are missed! Thank you for your spirit, your enthusiasm for your teaching vocation that played out every day in the classroom and above all thank you for the passion for instilling the love of learning and caring. My condolences to Pat's family and friends. Much love, Michele A. Linnen

Thursday, January 11, 2018My sincerest condolences to Pat's family and friends. I worked with Pat at Chancellor Livingston Elementary School, and along with Peter Franceschetti, another colleague of Pat, visited her several times in recent years. As things became harder for Pat, the one thing that remained constant was her sense of humor. I will remember her laugh forever. Rest in peace, Pat.

Wednesday, January 10, 2018I have such sweet memories of having been a friend of Pat's, and fellow teacher in Rhinebeck.. I had the honor of knowing her dear mother, Augusta, and daughter Pam from New Paltz. They, all three, were remarkable and interesting women!!! When I was the "new teacher" at Chancellor, it was Pat who took me under her wing and gave me guidance... told me to get myself down to spend lunch in the teachers room if I intended to be part of the Chancellor community. Reluctantly I gave up extra time working in the classroom during lunch and it was the single most important thing I did ...it helped me make such good friends and get to know my colleagues. What I remember most about my time with Pat is her delightful sense of humor, sense of fun and positive outlook. I remember that generous laugh and the sparkle in her eyes as she shared her stories with friends. I owe her much for making me feel so welcome and such a part of Chancellor, but mostly, I just treasure her friendship. I was lucky to know her!!!
