Tuesday, March 27, 2018Brenda, I am so sorry to lose Lester. He was one of the finest men I knew, and a great asset to Red Hook and the surrounding area. Conversing with him was always a pleasure and often educational re ongoing local happenings. He will be -- IS -- sorely missed. I realize this is a tad late but I just now learned as I am no longer in close touch with Red Hook events. My deepest condolences ... Ford Franklin

Friday, February 2, 2018I remember Les fondly. I don't know if 1931 is included in the "Greatest Generation" but certainly his life would qualify him for membership. He was one of the good guys.

Thursday, February 1, 2018We were privileged to have met Les, his wife, Brenda, and the then-young children, Seth and Katie in Germany in the early 80s while on assignment there with IBM. We were with them often during the 18 months we were there and found Les an interesting and ever-congenial gentleman. When we last saw him some 2 or 3 years ago in Raleigh he seemed as enjoyable and conversational as ever. Only in finding a more complete picture in the obituary do we know just how fascinating and full his life has been. Our sincere condolences to his family. Ray and Carole Clemo

Tuesday, January 30, 2018Though Les is gone in body I will always cherish memories of him. No matter what he was working on he always stopped what he was doing to ask how I was when I came by. This was just second nature. He always cared how others were doing and wanted them to know so.
