Obituary of Helen Mattison

Helen A. Mattison, 73, a longtime resident of Rhinebeck, passed away on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck.

Born on December 11th, 1944, in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Miriam (Cummings) Donohue. Helen married Scurry L Mattison on July 25, 1970 in Rhinebeck and he predeceased her on August 18, 2011.

For many years, Helen worked in housekeeping at Devereux in Red Hook.

Helen was a member of Third Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinebeck and also a member of

Hudson Valley Raceway.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law; Laurie & Aaron Kelsey of Red Hook, NY; her granddaughter, Kaylee Marie Kelsey of Red Hook, NY; her sister in law, Linda Mattison of Red Hook, NY; along with extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Frederick L. Mattison; and two sisters, Rosemary Andrew, and Madeline Weed.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at both Hudson Valley Hospice and Northern Dutchess Paramedics for the care and never ending support.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 91 E. Market St., Rhinebeck on Thursday, May 10th, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 11th, 2018 at Third Evangelical Lutheran Church, Livingston St., Rhinebeck, NY. Burial will be at Rhinebeck Cemetery, Rhinebeck.

Memorial donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or the Northern Dutchess Paramedics, 3 Hook Rd, Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
