Joseph C. Veniscofski, 67 of 601 Kappock Street, Bronx, New York, passed away on Wednesday April 15, 2020 at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, New York of complications from Covid-19.
Born August 29, 1952, he was the son of Bernard and Mary (O'Kane) Veniscofski. Joseph served in the US Army in Alaska for a number of years before becoming a Foreman for Metro North out of White Plains, New York. He just recently retired after 30 years of service to MetroNorth. Joseph enjoyed the culinary world of cooking and baking and celebrating life with gourmet dinners for families and friends. He was also an avid history buff and enjoyed a variety of movies. He was known for his great generosity to all and touched many lives.
He is survived by his sister Suzanne and brother in law, Vincent Mateo and their children's family, Jeannine Mateo and spouse Jackson Medford, Douglas Mateo and wife Shawna and children Sophia and Baron; sister MaryJean Veniscofski and her children Sarah and her children Peyton and Ramon; Anthony and partner Amanda and children Theodore and Dante; brother Michael, his wife Jeannette and children Bernadette and Michael. In addition, his Aunt Betty Lobello with cousin Stephanie and her husband Richie and son Richard; Anthony Lobello and wife Maureen and cousin Thomas and wife Gloria Lobello. He had a special place in his heart for his friends, especially Tim and Elizabeth Dannenhoffer. He left a legacy of special memories to all those he worked with at Metro North.
