Marion June Tarrant Weston, 97, of Red Hook, NY, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at her home.
Born on June 2, 1923, in Nash, OK, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Josephine (Oakes) Tarrant. June married Edward Browning Weston on May 18th, 1946. He predeceased her in 2001.
June graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1944. In addition to raising her family, June worked as a teacher with the Ridley Lowell Business & Technical Institute based in Binghamton, NY. She worked as assistant librarian at Carthage Public Library, Carthage, Missouri. She also served as a substitute teacher in many communities.
June was a member of the United Methodist Church of Red Hook, and a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Women's Association.
An avid reader and sewer, June also enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and scrabble. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader and Sunday School teacher.
June is survived by her children, Edward (Carol) Weston of Tehachapi, CA, David Weston of Olympia, WA, John Weston of Gardner Lake, KS, Barbara (Terry) Kimball of Cedar Park, TX, Steven (Cindy) Weston of Mills River, NC, and Janice (Harry) Williams of Red Hook, NY; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her siblings; Wilma O'Quinn, Lorene Adams, Lawrence Eldon Tarrant, Betty Puffenberger, and Harold Tarrant.
A celebration of June's life will be held this summer in Jet, Oklahoma.
