Obituary of Aidan S. Sullivan

Aidan S. Sullivan, 45, of New Paltz and a former Rhinebeck resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 30th, 2021. Born on January 27th, 1976, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of Brendan and Aista (Barreto) Sullivan of Rhinebeck. Aidan was a caring soul who loved meeting people. He was always quick witted and had a great sense of humor. In his youth, Aidan excelled in athletics - he was all star soccer, lacrosse and hockey player. He continued his interest in sports in his adult life, playing men's league soccer and ice hockey. Most recently, he moved to New Paltz where he worked at Mohonk Mountain House and was able to enjoy being in the outdoors. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his son, Joshua of Brazil; his siblings, Brendan (Patty) Sullivan of Tivoli, NY, Deidre Sullivan of Rhinebeck, NY, and Timothy (Jennifer) Sullivan of Scottsdale, AZ; a niece & nephews, Kylie, Colin, Leo, & Braeden; along with extended family, friends, and colleagues. His maternal grandparents, Boabdil & Celestina Barreto, and paternal grandparents, Timothy & Patricia Sullivan predeceased him. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook on Thursday, October 7th, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm. Prayers will be offered at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at St. Christopher's Church, Red Hook, NY. Burial will be at St. Sylvia's Cemetery, Tivoli.
